A FAQ Worth Fetching
Let’s Rein Them In!
What kind of satisfaction guarantee do you offer?
We stand behind our lessons 100%. If you’re not completely satisfied after your first session, we’ll refund that lesson in full—no questions asked. While we can’t promise how diligently you practice at home, we do guarantee top-notch instruction.
For our Board & Train experience, we guarantee your dog will master every command we advertise by the end of their stay. Plus, you’ll enjoy complimentary refresher sessions for life—just reach out any time Fido needs a touch-up.
How will my dog benefit from this training?
Most unwanted behaviors—chewing, jumping, mouthing—stem from boredom, lack of structure, or insufficient exercise. Our program combines mental stimulation with physical activity so your dog learns good manners, gains confidence, and gets the freedom to romp off-leash safely.
A busy, trained dog is a happy dog—and that means fewer headaches (and chewed shoes) for you and more joy for your whole family.
What exactly is an e-collar and how does it work?
An e-collar is a remote-controlled training tool that delivers a mild pulse—think of it like a phone vibrating in your pocket—so you can communicate with your dog from up to 400 yards away. It’s not a punishment device but a way to get your dog’s attention and reinforce your commands, whether you’re in the park or on a hiking trail.
Will the e-collar hurt my dog?
Absolutely not. We always demo the collar on your arm so you feel the gentle stimulation yourself—it’s more of a tickle than a zap. We’d never use anything on your dog that we wouldn’t try on ourselves, because we love dogs and their well-being is our top priority.
Does my dog need to wear the e-collar all the time?
No—inside the house, your dog will respond to commands without it. However, whenever you venture outdoors off-leash, we recommend keeping it on like an invisible safety belt. One unexpected squirrel or loud noise is all it takes for your dog to bolt, so it’s best to have that extra layer of control.
Will my dog dislike wearing the e-collar?
Most owners are amazed when their dog actually perks up at the sound of the activation beep and eagerly comes to you. Because the beep means “let’s go train—and then play”—your dog soon associates the collar with fun, mental engagement, and quality time together.
Where do private training sessions take place?
Each trainer has preferred outdoor spots with real-world distractions—fields, parks, beaches—rather than quiet living rooms. We’ll connect you with your local certified trainer, who’ll let you know exactly where you’ll meet for sessions designed to generalize obedience in any environment.
How much daily practice is required?
Great news—you don’t need to carve out extra hours in your schedule. We teach you how to weave training into your everyday routine: while you prepare meals, take a coffee break, or wait for the mail. Consistent, short bursts of practice yield fantastic results.
How long does the training program last?
Private lessons last one hour each, scheduled once a week over either four or eight weeks, depending on the package you choose. Board & Train stays run for seven or fourteen days. You’ll start seeing improvements from day one, and by graduation you’ll have a well-mannered companion.
At what age can pups start e-collar training?
We typically begin e-collar work when a dog is at least five months old—old enough to focus and understand basic cues. Before that, we lay the foundation with positive methods to build confidence and attention.
What if my puppy isn’t yet five months old?
No worries! We’ll use clicker and treat techniques to teach your young pup fundamental obedience and house-training skills. This sets them up for a seamless transition to e-collar work once they’re ready.
Is e-collar training suitable for small breeds?
Definitely. E-collars come in sizes and stimulation levels designed for dogs of any shape, size, or age (over five months). We even have a dedicated playlist of small-breed success stories to show you just how effective it can be.
